One of them most common questions we get on a daily basis is whether or not a patient is qualified to get LASIK. During your free consultation with our highly-experienced specialists and physicians, we perform a comprehensive and in-depth examination of your ocular health to ensure that you meet all of the parameters necessary to have a successful LASIK procedure.
Below are some of the basic requirements that need to be met before you can be a LASIK candidate. Don’t worry if you don’t meet them all, there still may be a procedure available to help you reduce your dependence on glasses and contact lenses.
- Between the Ages of 18 and 60
- Stable Vision for the last 2 Years
- No Significant Eye Problems or Diseases
- Not Pregnant or Nursing
Even if you meet the following requirements, a proper examination still needs to be done by our staff before you are a certified candidate. During your examination, we check the following:
- Your eyes’ corneal thickness and health
- Your cornea’s topography (how the surface of your eye is shaped)
- Your prescription
- Your retinal and optical nerve health
- Your eyes’ dryness
Upon completion of the examination and a final determination by our specialists, you will be able to schedule your procedure with one of our top LASIK surgeons.
